The Egyptians Do It Again
It seems since the ancient days of the pharaohs the Egyptians have been constantly surprising us. Today the Egyptian football team won their 3rd consecutive Africa Cup of Nations, with a 1-0 victory against the impressive Ghana. They also set a new record for most ACN matches without being defeated (19). Ghana and Nigeria came in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
So what is it that makes this Mediterranean country such a powerhouse lately? Could they be taking top secret powers from the Great Pyramids?
What is the correct way to signal the number 3???

African Football Confederation Bans Togo
The CAF has chosen to ban Togo from African competitions for six years due to what they call "government interference." The team pulled out of the African Nations' Cup after their team bus was ambushed by machine guns earlier in the month while in Angola. Apparently the African Football Confederation believes the Togolese players should have stayed in the country and risk their lives by showing up to their tournament opener against Ghana. Not only have they banned them for the next two tournaments, but the CAF also are fining the Togo Football Federation $50,000 USD. Now that's adding insult to injury death.
The Togolese are appealing the ban and fine in good reason. Does anyone else think this is messed up?

Ghana vs Egypt in African Cup of Nations final

Egypt and Ghana will face off in the second most important soccer tournament held in Africa this year. Ghana beat Nigeria earlier today with a goal scored by Asamoah Gyan of Rennes in Ligue 1.

Egypt cruised to victory against Algeria, winning 4-0. Goals were scored by Hosny Abd Rabo (Ahli Dubai of Egypt), Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund of Germany), Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Zamalek of Egypt) and Geddo (Al-Ittihad Al-Sakndary of Egypt). Earlier in the year, the same two countries played a "play-in" game for the World Cup, with Algeria coming out on top.
Ghana vs Egypt will be on January 31.
