LeBron Switching His Number

LeBron James has submitted a request for a number change to the NBA.  He wants to stop using Michael Jordan's infamous number 23 out of respect to "His Airness."  He has even suggested that Comissioner David Stern retire the number for the entire league.

The controversy here lies in the number LeBron wants to switch to.  The number 6 is his USA team number, however it happens to be the number of another NBA great and former Celtic Bill Russell.  It is understood that Jordan is arguably the greatest player in the modern game, and LeBron probably grew up idolizing him.  But if he wants to respect a great NBA champion, perhaps he should request 6 be retired as well.
